“The first to ask for a Bible”

Converge Canada is so excited to be sending close to 1500 Bibles across Canada for Summer Camp Ministry. These camps take place between June – August.

A significant area of ministry for Converge Canada is Scripture Placement. It is our goal to support Canadian para-church organizations and denominations with Bibles. These Bibles are used within their ongoing weekly or summer camp programs, knowing that Bibles and ongoing discipleship lead to transformed lives.

We have supported one camp for the last 3 summers with approximately 500 Bibles each summer. This allows the camp to provide a Bible to all children who would like one.

“There was one girl in my cabin last summer who became a Christian one evening at the campfire program, and she was just so excited about Jesus and learning more! She was the first to ask for a Bible when I offered on Friday, and she started reading it right away. I just remember her gratitude and excitement that she could read the things we had talked about all week!”

1 John 2:5 – “But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him.”

“Excited to receive her Bible”

Kids and teens represent the greatest opportunity to make a long-term impact on our world for Christ. This camp establishes welcoming, supportive environments. Kids and teens, from every background and cultural setting, learn how a personal relationship with Christ affects their everyday lives. To support the children who receive a Bible, this camp also provides a “New Bible” 16-page guide. It is provided to all children to take the guide home so that they can understand their Bible better.

“One girl was very open about not wanting a Bible. I mentioned to the whole cabin that the Bible is a big ol’ book and can be confusing when you don’t know where to start…but! There is a guide to tell you where to start reading AND all us staff have put together our favorite verses in there. This girl not only changed her mind but was excited to receive her Bible.”

Who do you know?

Do you know of an organization who is doing this? Running a Weekly Children’s Program, planning for Vacation Bible School, Overnight or Day Camp Ministry? We want to talk to them.
