Blessing the Minority Community in Hamilton with Mandarin Bibles.

Converge Canada is so excited to be sending sixty Bibles in Mandarin Language to our Partner, LIFT Church in Hamilton.

A key component of the Partnership between Converge Canada and LIFT Church is the financial support to provide Bibles.  These Bibles are for the programs of LIFT Church. When LIFT Church is in need, they reach out to Converge Canada who is able to locate, order and ship the Bibles directly to the church.

These Bibles will be used within one of their House Church locations in Hamilton. This church is Mandarin speaking in addition to English.  In order for their House Church leader, Wenbo and Tuoyu to effectively lead the first ever Mandarin speaking House Church, they required Mandarin language Bibles. It is our privilege to provide these Bibles.  We are so pleased to be a support and resource to Wenbo, Tuoyu and LIFT Church.

Serving those in need.

It all started when two McMaster University students wanted to give out hot chocolate to those who are vulnerable in downtown Hamilton during the winter months.  Following all Covid-19 Guidelines, these students and a few friends began serving hot chocolate each week.  Soon, some of their non-believing friends were joining them. They were learning how to live the love of Jesus to people who are vulnerable while interacting with Christians. These friends began asking questions. Soon after an outcome of this outreach was the need to start a House Church in Mandarin language.

Wenbo and Tuoyo are leading a House Church discipling these friends and studying God’s word together, in English and in Mandarin.

This is a great example of Matthew 25:35:

“For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger and you invited me into your home.”   These students felt the call to serve those vulnerable, those in their city who were thirsty and cold, and invited their friends to join them.  “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me?’” (Matthew 25:40)

They were in fact serving Jesus, and as a result, new believers were added to the Kingdom of God and a church was formed.

Who do you know?
